Cabinet approves amendment in the National Council for Teacher Education Act, 1993

 

Delhi: The Union Cabinet govern by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given its endorsement for presentation of a Bill in Parliament to correct the National Council for Teacher Education Act, 1993, to be specific the National Council for Teacher Education (Amendment) Act, 2017 to concede review acknowledgment to the Central/State/Universities who are observed to direct instructor training courses without NCTE authorization.

The alteration tries to concede review acknowledgement to the Central/State/Union Territory supported Institutions/Universities directing Teacher Education Courses without NCTE acknowledgement till the scholastic year 2017-2018. The review acknowledgement is being given as a onetime measure in order to guarantee that the fate of the understudies go out/selected in these establishments are not risked.




The alteration will make understudies examining in these Institutions/Universities, or as of now go out from here, qualified for work as an educator. With a view to accomplishing previously mentioned benefits, Deptt. of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development has achieved this revision.

All foundations running Teacher Education Courses, for example, B.Ed. also, D.El.Ed. need to get acknowledgement from the National Council for Teacher Education under segment 14 of the NCTE Act. Further, the courses of such perceived Institutions/Universities must be allowed under area 15, of the NCTE Act.

NCTE kept in touch with every single Central University and/State Obvernrnents/State Universities/District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) advising them about the lawful arrangements making it required to look for earlier consent for beginning Teacher Education Courses and giving them time till 31-03-2017 to illuminate NCTE if any such Institution/University is running a course without authorization of NCTE, for a one-time determination of past issues.
